At Westcote Design, we manufacture a real range of armchairs in different styles, patterns, and colours. We’re sure that when you have a look at our range you’ll be spoiled for choice.
We’re an Oxfordshire based furniture shop and manufacturer, that has been around for 25 years. Our two founders have over 85 years of industry experience between them, so you can be assured of the highest quality furniture completed to the highest possible standards.

All of our armchairs are handmade by our expert team. This means, if you have any specific needs, we can make adjustments to almost all armchairs & accent chairs in our range. It also means that we can make bespoke pieces if you’re looking for something unique, like an accent chair or an occasional chair. Laurence - Hartford Collection
The Laurence Chair
Frame: Primed and seasoned Beech and Birch. Glued, screwed and dowled.
Springs: Individual heavy coil springs, hand tied into bands of interwoven black and white webbing.
Filling: Natural fillings. F.R. rubberised fibre and hair, F.R. cotton felt, jute webbing and hessian.
Legs: Integral beech legs which can be stained to the clients preference.

Hartford
Our Hartford collection of arm chairs come in a wide range of designs. The Laurence has a real air of sophistication, harkening back to times gone by. The frame is primed and seasoned beech and birch, and the upholstery is padded with natural fillings. The legs can be stained to a client’s preference, so you can customise this armchair to really suit your design requirements.
The Charlton is a more modern design. With a beech frame and foam lining, this chair is perfect for if you’re going for a more contemporary feel in your home. The perfect reading chair.
Finally, we have the Shelley Wing. Like the Laurence, this design is perfect for adding an air of sophistication and fits perfectly with both period and contemporary rooms. The frame is again primed, and seasoned beech and birch and the legs can be customised. They can be both stained to a client’s preference and you can choose between Queen Anne style legs, Ball and Claw legs or a more contemporary reeded leg.

Oriel
Our Oriel range collects together all of our contemporary pieces into one place. The Elara, for instance, is an armchair which aims to add class and a modern feel to any room. Made with a beech frame and wrapped in polyester, these armchairs are both well designed and durable.
We also have our cube collection. This is a series of small cubes which can be used as temporary seats for busy occasions, or as footrests. They are made of a beech and plywood frame with a foam filling. They complement the Elara perfectly when it comes to creating a contemporary feel in a room.
As well as manufacturing new armchairs & accent chairs, at Westcote Design we also have a re-upholstery service. This is perfect for if you have an old favourite armchair or fireside chair which just needs a bit of a revamp. We can work with both armchairs we’ve manufactured ourselves and arm chairs which are much older from different sources.
